About Lauren Power

I have been in the estate agency world since I was 18, having discovered my passion for property at a young age. Growing up in Otley, I found the process of moving home fascinating, and it sparked an interest in estate agency that has shaped my career ever since. Fast forward 14 years (how time flies!), and I’ve had the pleasure of working with independent agents, national corporates, and online agencies. I started as a sales negotiator, quickly rising to branch manager, and by the age of 24, I became self-employed. For two and a half years, I also had the opportunity to coach and mentor other estate agents, helping them build their own businesses.

Whilst I loved supporting business owners, I realised that what I truly missed was working directly with homeowners, guiding them through one of the most important times of their lives—moving home. I’m passionate about property, but more importantly, I’m passionate about people. I’ve helped over 1,000 home movers in Leeds, and there’s nothing more rewarding than seeing the excitement of someone finding their dream home—or supporting them when a move becomes more challenging than expected.

In February 2023, I took a leap of faith and launched The Home Movement, it was something I’d always dreamed of. Now, as an independent estate agent, I’m able to offer a completely bespoke service tailored to each client’s unique needs. I work with a limited number of clients—no more than 20 at a time—to ensure they receive the best possible attention and care. And because I know moving doesn’t always fit within standard office hours, I make myself available when it’s convenient for you.

I’m deeply passionate about staging and marketing properties to ensure they stand out and achieve the best possible outcome for my clients. My goal is always to have my clients’ back and work as a team to make their move a success.

I live in Rawdon, where I love the village atmosphere and easy access to the countryside. But I also enjoy exploring the vibrant restaurant scene and hidden gems in and around Leeds.

I honestly can't recommend Lauren highly enough. I tried to sell my flat for 18 months, and throughout the entire process, she was by my side. We faced some real challenges, especially around BSF fire safety and cladding remediation works, which understandably put a lot of potential buyers off. But Lauren never wavered, she remained consistently positive, incredibly supportive, and always helpful. She wasn’t just an estate agent; over time, she became a friend. We met Lauren of the aptly named The Home Movement when she showed us around a property we went on to buy. Lauren impressed me and my husband immediately by her calm manner, and gentle, no pressure approach to sales. Lauren clearly knew the property well and was able to answer any questions we had, and cleverly drew our attention to the positive attributes of the property, whilst allowing us time to explore and draw our own conclusions. We knew straight away that Lauren had the right skills to sell our own house and she lived up to and exceeded our expectations by finding us a lovely buyer for our beloved house, but also by holding our hands through the complicated processes of selling and buying a home. Lauren was selling the house we were hoping to buy. We liked her as soon as we met her! She was so approachable, friendly and we warmed to her immediately. Even though we were the buyers she was also there for us too every step of the way, understanding that this was our first purchase. She has also followed through the entire process with us even after completion making sure we were happy with everything. If we ever sell we’ll definitely give her a call.

I liked Lauren from the moment I met her and knew she was the one to sell our house. She has a very calming and confident approach, without all the 'sales' pitches. She set up a WhatsApp group for us so which was much more efficient than email or phone calls. I am pleased we went with a smaller company, rather than a big national one as it meant we always spoke to Lauren, not multiple different agents. Lauren was fantastic at helping us navigate challenges throughout the process, in particular, listening to my rants! We were so happy with Lauren, that we have already asked her if she would sell our new house when we are ready to move again!
